About

I never really fit into one creative box.

Web design. Graphic design. Music. Photography. Branding. Building things and reworking them until they’re better. Creativity has always been the common thread.

Creativity is the point

Isaiah Short

I’m Isaiah Short, a web designer and graphic designer and the person behind Blackweb Studio.

I started my creative career working for a church, where design wasn’t just about making things look good. Every website, graphic, campaign, video, and piece of communication had a job to do — it had to connect with real people. That experience shaped the way I approach creative work today.

Since then, I’ve designed and launched dozens of websites and worked across a wide range of creative disciplines. Through all of it, one thing has stayed the same:

I love making things.

The work

Make something worth noticing.

There’s already enough forgettable design in the world.

I don’t want to make another website that looks like it came from the same template as everyone else in your industry. I don’t want to change a logo, swap a few colors, and call it a brand.

I want to understand what makes what you’re building different, and create something that actually feels like you.

That might mean beautiful typography and restraint. It might mean huge imagery, motion, texture, unconventional navigation, or something neither of us has thought of yet.

The style changes. The intention doesn’t.

What I do

Three ways I help

Web Design

Websites should do more than exist. I design modern, responsive sites that pair a strong visual identity with thoughtful UX — every decision, from typography and layout to animation, navigation, and calls to action, made to support the story you’re telling and the action you want people to take.

Graphic Design

Good design gives an idea a visual language. From brand identities and campaign graphics to print, digital assets, and album artwork, I build visual systems that make ideas feel intentional, recognizable, and complete.

Creative Direction

Sometimes you don’t need another pair of hands — you need someone to look at the whole thing and ask what it could become. I help brands, organizations, and artists connect their identity, website, imagery, and messaging into one cohesive experience.

Philosophy

Different on purpose.

Trends move fast. Templates multiply even faster. Blackweb Studio isn’t interested in chasing whatever the internet decided every website should look like this year.

The best creative work sits at the intersection of strategy, personality, experimentation, and craftsmanship. It should function beautifully. It should communicate clearly. But it should also have a point of view — because when someone meets your brand for the first time, they shouldn’t just understand what you do.

They should feel something.

The name

The web is where everything connects.

A brand isn’t just a logo. A website isn’t just a collection of pages. A photograph isn’t just an image. A headline isn’t just a sentence. They’re all connected.

The name Blackweb Studio represents that interconnected approach — taking individual ideas, visuals, stories, and experiences and weaving them together into something stronger. Something cohesive. Something memorable. Something that’s yours.

Designer · Creator · Musician · Professional overthinker of tiny details

My career started in church communications, where I learned very quickly that creative work has to accomplish something. Beautiful without useful isn’t enough. Neither is functional without personality.

When I’m not designing, there’s a good chance I’m making music, working on my house, cooking something, studying someone else’s creative work, or starting a project that sounded significantly easier before I began it. I don’t see those as separate interests — they’re all expressions of the same obsession:

Taking what exists and asking what it could become.

You’ve got an idea.
Let’s make it impossible to ignore.

Whether you’re starting from scratch, rebuilding something that has stopped representing you, or you simply know your brand could be better — I’d love to hear what you’re working on.
